John is best known for playing Christian Clarke on the BBC soap from 2008 until 2012, returning briefly in 2015 and 2016.Christian was introduced as the brother of Jane Beale and went on to find love with Syed Masood, played by Marc Elliott, who was hiding his sexuality from his strict Muslim family. The pair eventually entered a civil partnership and left Walford together.More than 10 years on, John appeared on GMB this morning to speak about his role of Doctor Hannibal Lecter in the upcoming the Silence of the Lambs stage show. But that's not what wound viewers up - with some remarking on John's outfit.Taking to X, fans had their say and being met with a morning wake up all and one wrote: “WHAT is he wearing??? Far too much hair on show!” Another said: "Do we really need to see his hairy armpits and chest at 9:37 in the morning?" A third wondered: "Has he got the gym after?”John didn't mention the vest but did have plenty to say about his role as he prepares to star alongisde former soap rival, Corrie star Mollie Gallagher.“Once you take the cannibalism out of the equation, Hannibal Lecter and myself aren’t too different," John, 55, joked to Richard Madeley, who in contrast was wearing a smart black suit jacket.“He’s a cultured man, he’s travelled, he likes art and the music and the ballet – and he’s got a perfect size 10 just like me. So I feel I am not too dissimilar from him”.John, has worked in the West End since he was 16, has been open about his battles with booze in the past and said that he developed the addiction because he 'didn't want to feel'.He said previously: "Any form of addiction is about not wanting to feel, whether that is food, drugs, drink, shopping, sex... that's what it's about and that's what I didn't want to do."I didn't want to feel. I never felt confident in just being myself and just allowing myself to feel like me. And that's why it took me a long time to [change my life around]."Corrie fans are about to say goodbye to Molly.
