TANGERANG, Indonesia — Chinese vehicle manufacturer DFSK has introduced a right-hand drive version of its E5 Plus plug-in hybrid SUV at the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, taking another step in its efforts to build a broader presence across Southeast Asia. The launch marks the first right-hand drive market debut for the model, following an initial preview at the International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo in Hong Kong earlier in the year.
The release underlines how Chinese automotive groups are shifting from pure export strategies to localized assembly in key regional hubs. DFSK, an electrified vehicle brand operating under the seres Group umbrella, is seeking to capitalize on growing demand for flexible plug-in powertrains in markets where public charging infrastructure remains unevenly distributed.
