Muscat --- The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Oman Olympic Committee, will participate in the 20th Asian Games "Aichi-Nagoya 2026" with a delegation competing across ten sporting disciplines, namely athletics, taekwondo, shooting, hockey, golf, fencing, cricket, weightlifting, sailing, and beach volleyball. The tournament will be hosted by Japan from 19 September to 4 October 2026.Oman's participation in this continental sporting event forms part of its broader commitment to major regional athletic competitions, with Omani athletes aspiring to deliver competitive performances that reflect the scale of preparation and dedication invested in readiness for this prestigious Asian gathering. Oman Olympic Committee is actively continuing its preparatory efforts, finalizing all logistical and administrative requirements associated with the delegation, and ensuring optimal conditions for athletes and support personnel alike. These measures are designed to strengthen team readiness, enable full engagement in the Games, and maximize the benefits derived from this significant Asian sporting milestone.In Hockey, Oman's national hockey team opens the Sultanate's campaign at the Games, with competitions scheduled from 18 September to 3 October. The delegation comprises 10 players, along with 8 members of the technical and administrative staff.In Shooting, Oman's participation continues with the national shooting team, which will compete from 20 September to 1 October. The squad features 6 male and 2 female shooters, accompanied by 4 members of the technical and administrative support teams. Events include individual skeet, individual trap, 10m air pistol, 10m air rifle individual, 10m mixed team air rifle, 50m rifle three positions individual, and 25m pistol.In Beach Volleyball, Oman's national beach volleyball team will contest its matches from 20 September to 3 October, with a delegation comprising 4 players and a coach.In Fencing, Oman's national fencing team is set to compete from 22 to 27 September, with a delegation comprising 4 male and 3 female fencers, alongside 2 members of the technical and administrative staff. Entries include individual and team foil events, as well as individual and team épée competitions.In Weightlifting, the Omani weightlifters will feature in the Games from 23 to 29 September, with 3 athletes competing across the 75kg, 85kg, and 95kg weight categories, supported by 2 members of the technical and administrative team.In Athletics, a substantial Omani presence is anticipated in athletics, with the national team competing from 24 to 29 September. The squad includes 8 male and 3 female athletes, accompanied by 6 members of the technical and administrative staff. Events entered include the 100m, 200m, men's 4×100m relay, mixed 4×100m relay, high jump, long jump, triple jump, and hammer throw.In Cricket, Oman's national cricket team will participate in the Games from 24 September to 3 October, with a 15-player squad accompanied by 4 members of the technical and administrative staff.In Sailing, Oman turns to the waters from 26 September to 3 October, with the national sailing team competing in the 49er class. The delegation comprises 4 sailors and 3 members of the technical and administrative staff.In Golf, Oman's national golf team will compete from 30 September to 3 October, represented by a single player accompanied by his coach.In Taekwondo, Oman's sporting campaign concludes with the national taekwondo team, competing from 1 to 3 October with a delegation consisting of one athlete and a coach, who will contest the –58kg weight category.
