Poland will receive €43.7 billion from the EU's SAFE scheme
The cities of Warsaw and Gdynia are preparing to host the biggest military parade in Poland’s post-war history, showcasing the army’s ramp-up, driven by the country’s Security Action for Europe (SAFE) loan.
The annual parade, held on 15 August, or Polish Armed Forces Day, commemorates the victory of Polish forces against the Soviet Red Army in 1920. This year, it will include around 1,800 soldiers marching in Warsaw, and a ship parade in the Baltic port of Gdynia. Around 9,000 soldiers will secure the two events.
“This is, among other things, a show of our military equipment, our strength, our modernised army,” Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence Paweł Bejda told the press on Monday.
The Ministry of Defence will also showcase the country’s recent ramp-up of orders through the EU’s €150 billion SAFE loan.
