Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company (ABSL AMC) expects the Nifty to deliver a return of 14 to 17 per cent in FY27 against the negative return of 4 per cent in FY26. The widely tracked benchmark index has already gained 7 per cent in the first quarter of the current fiscal.The fund house believes corporate earnings have witnessed a sharp revival in recent months, driven by robust consumption trends.Harish Krishnan, Chief Investment Officer, Equity, ABSL AMC, said the earnings of the top 1,000 listed companies are expected to rise 11 per cent in FY27 to ₹21 lakh crore, compared with ₹19 lakh crore reported in FY26.However, he noted that the market capitalisation of these companies has grown at a much faster pace, leaving valuations in the expensive zone despite a significant correction from peak levels.Krishnan added that capital expenditure by India Inc is showing signs of revival, although there is scope for further improvement. He pointed out that the top 1,000 companies generated profits of ₹19 lakh crore in FY26 while undertaking capital expenditure of ₹12 lakh crore, indicating a growing willingness among corporates to invest as demand strengthens further.He also said that currency depreciation is generally positive for corporate earnings, noting a 55 per cent positive correlation between a weaker currency and corporate profitability..Two SIF NFOs launchedAditya Birla Sun Life AMC has launched two new Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs) - Apex Equity Long-Short Fund and Equity Ex-Top 100 Long-Short Fund. The New Fund Offers (NFOs) opened for subscription on Monday, with a minimum investment requirement of ₹10 lakh per PAN.Diversified exposureThe Equity Long-Short Fund aims to provide diversified exposure across the equity market and is benchmarked against the Nifty 500 TRI. The fund has the flexibility to dynamically adjust its net equity exposure in response to changing market conditions.Meanwhile, the Apex Equity Ex-Top 100 Long-Short Fund focuses on investing in emerging companies beyond India’s top 100 firms by market capitalisation.According to the fund house, companies ranked between 101-250 and 251-500 by market capitalisation have delivered market-cap growth of nearly three times over the past five years, compared with about two times growth among the top 100 companies.Published on August 10, 2026
