The Mobility House is continuing its restructuring. We recently reported on the completed sale of its fleet division, The Mobility House Solutions, to Edenred. The company is now also restructuring its North American business: PowerFlex, a subsidiary of EDF Renewables North America and ultimately French energy group EDF, is acquiring The Mobility House’s US subsidiary. At the same time, The Mobility House will retain an indirect presence in North America by investing in PowerFlex and becoming a minority shareholder.
The Mobility House spent several years attempting to establish itself in the USA and Canada, primarily as a specialist in depot charging. However, like many competitors, it was affected by the politically driven slowdown in the e-mobility rollout in the USA. The Mobility House describes the transaction as another consistent step in the company’s strategic realignment.
According to the partners, PowerFlex currently manages more than 70,000 charging points in the US and has installed over 500 MW of commercial solar capacity and more than 50 MWh of battery storage. The EDF subsidiary also has a strong position in the North American market for large commercial fleets.
