Kanniyakumari District Superintendent of Police R. Stalin on Monday handed over 260 mobile phones, worth about ₹46 lakh, recovered by the police to their rightful owners here.After owners of the mobile phones, which were either stolen or lost, filed complaints with the police, the cybercrime wing was actively involved in tracing and recovering them. As part of continued efforts, 260 mobile phones were traced and recovered.With this, a total of 580 mobile phones worth around ₹1 crore has been recovered and handed over to their rightful owners in the district so far this year.People who lose their mobile phones are urged to immediately lodge a complaint at the nearest police station. They can also register their complaint through Tamil Nadu police citizen portal https://eservices.tnpolice.gov.in and through CEIR portal https://www.ceir.gov.in lost mobile phones can be blocked and traced.
