NewsUK NewsCrimeNicole Beling was found dead at home on Dittoncroft Close, south Croydon, when police went to the property after she was reported missing12:37, 10 Aug 2026A woman has been found dead in her home after she was reported missing by family, with police arresting a man on suspicion of murder.‌Nicole Beling, 60, was graded as a high-risk missing person following the report, with police called just after midnight on July 17.‌Officers were sent to her home on Dittoncroft Close in south Croydon, south London, later that morning to investigate her disappearance. Ms Beling's body was found during a search of the property and she was pronounced dead at the scene.‌Her family are being supported by specialist officers. A man aged 61 was arrested at the scene on July 17 on suspicion of murder. He was later released under investigation but re-arrested on August 1.He has since been bailed as enquiries continue. The woman's death is being treated as unexplained but a formal murder investigation has not yet been launched, Met Police said.Article continues belowMs Beling's cause of death is still being examined. Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, said: "A formal murder investigation has not been launched at this time and we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding Nicole’s sad death."We want to hear from anyone who knew Nicole or may have information that could assist the investigation – and help us find answers for her family.
