With the news cycle bringing word of one tragedy after another targeting children, many Pakistanis are worried for the safety of their young ones. Among them is actor Zara Noor Abbas, who is also wondering how she can protect her children as the country passes through “the worst times”.
In a story posted on her Instagram account on Sunday, she said things were so bad “not because we are seeing rape and murder everywhere; but because there is no example being made out of something done so often and easily”.
She said it does look easy to commit these horrific crimes because they’re “happening all the time”. So much so, that the issue was no longer even gendered.
The actor asked how someone was to save their children in such times, questioning whether it would be okay to take the law into one’s own hands. The law, she said, “does seem to behave like a sixth grader”.
“Let’s dig the grave again because the first time we didn’t get it right,” wrote the actor, possibly referring to the recent exhumation of the body of young business owner, Mir Raza Ali. His body was autopsied for a second time after a court order.
