Khaosod English news portal reported that the 51-year-old man and his daughter, believed to be in her 30s, had rented a motorcycle to visit the Windmill Viewpoint on the island.
While riding down a steep slope on Aug. 6, he lost control and plunged off a cliff into the road.
He died instantly, while she was injured and taken to hospital.
Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted the Chinese embassy in Thailand as saying it had contacted the police and the hospital, urging them to provide the best possible medical care for the injured daughter and assisting the family with funeral and administrative arrangements.
