School of Engineering professor Drazen Dujic has received the Milan M. Jovanović Award for Power Electronics Emerging Technology from the IEEE Power Electronics Society.Drazen Dujic, head of the Power Electronics Laboratory, was selected to receive the prestigious award "for contributions to the development of solid-state transformer technologies." It wil be presented at the IEEE Energy and Conversion Congress Expo (ECCE-NA), to be held 4 to 8 October in Vancouver, BC, Canada.Drazen Dujic's research focuses on electrical energy generation, conversion, and storage, with a focus on medium voltage high power applications. He received his Dipl. Ing. and MSc degrees from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 2002 and 2005, respectively, and his PhD degree from Liverpool John Moores University, UK, in 2008.From 2009 to 2014, he was with ABB Switzerland and engaged in power electronics-related projects spanning the range from low-power power supplies in the kilowatt range to medium voltage high power converters in the megawatt range. His main research interests are in the areas of design and control of advanced medium-voltage high-power electronics systems and high-performance drives. He is an IEEE Fellow.
