The platform will officially launch in late August, with the initial pilot programme set to take place across Dublin.

Australian substitute teacher booking platform ClassCover is set to expand into the Irish market amid a €3m investment that will also create 20 new jobs over the course of the next three years.

The organisation intends to recruit across sales, marketing, partnerships and customer support and is also aiming to onboard 2,000 schools over the next three years, reportedly representing almost half of the country’s total.

Established in 2011 and headquartered in Sydney, ClassCover enables school principals to book substitute teachers and SNAs through a real-time booking platform. It is designed to address teacher shortages and potential schedule disruptions.

According to ClassCover there is rising demand in Ireland for a more streamlined substitute teacher booking system, as currently many schools rely on manual phone calls or social media messaging apps to secure cover, which can be inefficient and risky.
