Reuters poll shows Americans favor more oversight of social media companies

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows three in five Americans support additional government rules for how social media companies conduct their businesses, including support for age-verification tools to keep children off social media platforms, Jason Lange and Courtney Rozen of Reuters reports. Publicly traded companies in the space include Meta Platforms (META), Alphabet (GOOG) (GOOGL), Pinterest (PINS), Reddit (RDDT) and Snap (SNAP).
