Aug. 9 (UPI) -- New York State Police early Sunday said a 32-year-old man accused of killing his father and then setting fire to the man's home has been taken into custody, ending a three-day manhunt.

Little information about the arrest of Thomas David Ryan has been made public. New York State Police said in an early Sunday statement that he as been taken into police custody and the active search in the Gilboa area of Schoharie County has concluded.

"The New York State Police thanks the public and our law enforcement partners for their assistance," it said.

Authorities were searching for Thomas of Greenville, N.Y., from around 7:30 p.m. EDT Thursday, when state police responded to reports of a structure fire at a residence on Greenville Turnpike in Greenville, located about 26 miles southwest of Albany.
