The Lagos Waste Management Authority has announced that the authority recorded 1,866 truck trips across its disposal facilities between 28 July and 3 August 2026, describing the performance as a clear demonstration of the positive impact of strategic infrastructure investment on waste evacuation operations.

The body said it has recorded the evacuation of over 18,660 metric tonnes of municipal solid waste across its disposal facilities within one week.

The Director of Public Affairs at LAWMA, Mukaila Sanusi, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday obtained by The PUNCH.

According to the statement, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, disclosed this during an operations review meeting at the agency’s headquarters in Ijora-Olopa on Wednesday.
