Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured motorists and residents that the vandalised section of a bridge along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway remains structurally sound despite vandals removing some fittings.
Sanwo-Olu gave the assurance on Saturday after inspecting the affected bridge at Vin-Niger in the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, saying the vandalism had not compromised the structure’s integrity.
The governor said the inspection was necessary to establish the condition of the bridge after some fittings used to secure the structure were excavated and removed.
He, however, warned that the government would pursue those responsible for vandalising the bridge and other public infrastructure, including those who buy or sell materials stolen from government facilities.
