Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei held his first meeting with President Masoud Pezeshkian in three months, during which they discussed the country’s economy and defense.
According to Ukrinform, Al Jazeera reported the meeting, citing Iranian state media.
The report said that the meeting involved a detailed exchange of views on the country’s issues and challenges.
Khamenei and Pezeshkian discussed meeting the needs of the population, the ongoing conflict with the United States and prospects for ending it, as well as economic cooperation with foreign partners.
The meeting marked the beginning of Pezeshkian’s third year in office as president of the Islamic Republic.
