Electronic Arts goes private

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) officially closed the deal to buy Electronic Arts for $55 billion. The move has given the PIF 93.4% of EA, and the video game company went private after getting delisted from NASDAQ. That said, EA is still under a massive $18 billion debt. It's reportedly planning mass layoffs as a measure to save up to $700 million per year.
