Two African nations have qualified for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
They are Algeria and Morocco. Their qualifications followed victories in their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
Algeria booked their place at the global tournament for the first time after coming from behind to beat Côte d’Ivoire 2-1, while Morocco defeated South Africa by the same scoreline.
Both North African sides secured automatic qualification by reaching the WAFCON semi-finals, according to established rules.
Two more African nations will join them at the 2027 World Cup after the remaining WAFCON quarter-finals.
