Ottawa: A wildfire has forced more than 20,000 people to evacuate their homes in the western Canadian province of British Columbia.Canada declared a state of emergency yesterday, after high winds fuelled the Baldy Range fire and accelerated its spread, with flames reaching the Summerland area and impacting residential communities in the surrounding valleys. Media reports indicated that over 50 people were airlifted from the Folder area as the blaze advanced.
