Trainer aircraft veers off runway at Baramati airstrip; no injuries reported
A Carver Aviation trainer aircraft veered off the runway during a training exercise at the Baramati airstrip in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Sunday. The VT-SEX aircraft, carrying a pilot and a cadet, could not be brought to a complete stop and went around 20 feet beyond the runway threshold into a grassy area. No injuries were reported. The incident comes months after a private charter aircraft carrying then Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others crashed near the Baramati airstrip in January, killing all five people on board.
