DOHA, August 9. /TASS/. Houthi rebels from Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement said they had struck Saudi Aramco’s Jazan refinery, according to a statement by the group’s military spokesman.
"The Yemeni armed forces [the Houthis] <…> managed to attack the Aramco refinery in Jazan with a drone, scoring a direct hit," the statement posted on the rebels’ Telegram channel said. It described the strike as a response to Saudi Arabian drone incursions into the airspace of the Saada and Hajjah provinces.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry said that firefighters had extinguished a fire that broke out at dawn on August 9 at one of the Saudi Aramco refinery’s facilities in Jazan. The ministry said no one was injured but did not specify the cause of the fire.
