Werner Müller stabbed his wife 18 times.
A Mpumalanga man who brutally murdered his wife has been sentenced to 40 years’ direct imprisonment in the Middelburg High Court.
Werner Müller, 44, from Secunda, was convicted of the murder of his wife, René Müller, in April, and defeating the ends of justice.
René’s body was discovered concealed in a bag in the outside room of her townhouse in Danie Theron Street on April 13. She had sustained multiple stab wounds.
The couple had been married since February 2026.
