Former Vice President Kamala Harris warned that voting rights face growing challenges ahead of the November election, urging Americans to check their registration and turn out in large numbers.
Harris Warns of Voting Restrictions On Friday, Harris wrote in a post on X that "these are challenging times, but we are not powerless," arguing that efforts to make voting harder demonstrate the importance of participating in elections.
She added, "If our votes did not matter, they would not be working overtime to make them harder to cast." She further said, "This November, we will show them what happens when millions of Americans turn out in our numbers." Harris Targets Trump, Supreme Court In an accompanying clip, Harris said that 19 states had passed laws making voting more difficult and criticized President Donald Trump’s support for the SAVE Act, which would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship for federal voter registration.
Former Vice President also criticized the Supreme Court over what she described as a weakening of the Voting Rights Act.
