Lane Johnson has been a part of two Super Bowl-winning Eagles teams. Chris Szagola / APAug. 8, 2026 12:46 pm EDT Updated Lane Johnson, the Philadelphia Eagles’ six-time Pro Bowl right tackle, said on Saturday that the 2026 NFL season will “probably” be his last.“Looking like this is probably, potentially, going to be my last year,” said Johnson, 36, who is entering his 14th NFL season since the Eagles selected him with the fourth pick of the 2013 NFL Draft.. “I had gotten to that point of those priorities away from football are starting to merge… I thought about it last year. Lots of conversations with my family, my kids. My oldest is turning 13 in a few days. It’s hard to get time back, especially those years, I feel are very pivotal. It’ll be a fun transition. But as far as my focus is on here with the Eagles, playing, I still feel like I can be a premier tackle in this league.”Johnson won two Super Bowls with the Eagles, after the 2017 and 2024 seasons, and was a Pro Bowl selection as recently as two years ago.“My mom’s struggling with some health stuff. My dad. That’s really it. A lot of time away. And then when some things come up like that, it puts things into what matters.“You can’t play forever. Not everybody can do what LeBron James is doing. I am 36. All the love, all the support here. Yeah, man, I plan on having a really good last year.”
