A 65-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her son following a dispute over family property at Manapparai in Tiruchi on Friday.The deceased was identified as Selvi, wife of Ganesan, of Kalathupatti.According to the police, the couple had three sons. Their second son, Venkadesan, 27, was married but had been living with his parents following a dispute with his wife. Police said he frequently quarrelled with his parents demanding a share in the family property.On Friday night, Venkadesan, picked an argument with his mother, during which he allegedly attacked her with a dumbbell, causing serious injuries. Ms. Selvi was taken to a private hospital in Manapparai and was later shifted to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital where she died on Saturday.The Manapparai police have arrested Venkadesan and registered a case.
