Iran launched a missile strike on an Adnoc oil tanker crossing the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, marking the 16th such attack since the war began.
The UAE condemned the strike as a "flagrant violation" of a UN Security Council resolution protecting freedom of navigation and commercial vessels.
Qatar affirmed solidarity with the UAE, rejecting use of the strait as a pressure tool and demanding that "unjustified Iranian attacks" cease immediately.
Iran's IRGC said any reopening of the strait depended on Washington accepting Tehran's terms, unrelated to ongoing Oman-brokered negotiations.
