NewsUK NewsWest Midlands PoliceA major police presence remains on Chester Road in Sutton Coldfield as officers investigate a fatal stabbing.11:33, 08 Aug 2026Updated 11:44, 08 Aug 2026A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing near a college in Sutton Coldfield.‌Emergency services were called to Chester Road, close to the Oscott and Kingstanding border, shortly after midnight on Saturday (August 8).‌The victim, a man in his 30s, had suffered stab injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, reports Birmingham Live.‌A large police presence remains in the area, with a cordon in place and a tent erected as officers continue to investigate and gather evidence.Crews were seen swarming Chester Road, opposite Oscott College and near a row of shops at New Oscott, where two cordons remain in place.‌West Midlands Police said in a statement: "A man is in custody today on suspicion of murder after a man died in Sutton Coldfield overnight."We were called to Chester Road shortly after midnight after a man was stabbed.
