Pakawich Damrongkiattisak/Getty ImagesAug. 8, 2026 6:09 am EDT Updated Crystal Palace have reignited interest in signing Aston Villa forward Evann Guessand on loan.Contact has been made with Guessand’s representatives in recent days after Palace initially decided against pursuing the 25-year-old earlier in the summer.Palace are among the suitors who are exploring taking Guessand, though Villa are currently looking to strengthen in forward positions following the departure of Morgan Rogers and Jadon Sancho, as well as the uncertain future of Leon Bailey, who remains in protracted talks to join Hull City.Guessand had spent the second half of last season on loan at Palace, but following the departure of manager Oliver Glasner, the club let the deadline of May 31 to sign the Ivory Coast international for £28million pass.The Athletic has previously reported Guessand is available to leave Villa this summer, yet returned to pre-season with the intention of aiming to convince Unai Emery he was worthy of another attempt at breaking into his plans. Having only signed from Nice last August, Guessand hoped to be deployed in a more familiar central position and has featured in friendlies during Villa’s tour of Indonesia.Guessand made 14 appearances for Palace last season, scoring twice.
