Opening the show, Matt, 52, said: "Good morning. We're taking a holiday from Saturday Kitchen Live, so to tide you over, we've put together a celebration of everything this season does best.‌"Grab yourself a snack and settle in for a special summer selection of Saturday Kitchen Best Bites." He added: "Welcome to the show. Over the next 90 minutes, we're showcasing beautiful dishes made with produce and enjoying some of the very best of Saturday Kitchen content from across the years."‌The spin-off sees "the best bits and favourite moments from Saturday Kitchen" with a synopsis for Saturday's instalment teasing: "Matt Tebbutt delivers an end-of-summer feast from some of your favourite Saturday Kitchen chefs."The teaser added: "We round off our menu with Bob Mortimer tucking into either his food heaven, plaice steak with mash and summer veg, or his food hell, pizza! Keep watching to find out what he got.‌"We also take two trips into the BBC Food archive with Rick Stein and the Hairy Bikers. Rick heads to Leigh-on-Sea for a divisive seaside snack, and Si and Dave get a taste of the Corsican holy trinity."Taking to social media, viewers were quick to complain over the fact there was no new instalment and the show wasn't live. One person said: "Everyone must be on their holibobs. Not quite the same as the live shows."‌A different account wrote: "Look forward to this, but how come there is no 'live' or new episode?" while another put: "Where’s the live show? I was looking forward to it… Oh well; will just have to settle for best bites.. At least it’ll feature Bob Mortimer."Elsewhere, a different account commented: "Why isn't the live show on? Didn't initially see it was a repeat. Was really looking forwards to seeing Bob on again. Disappointed.
