Hong Kong’s weather forecaster recorded its highest temperature of the year at its headquarters as parts of the city exceeded 38 degrees Celsius (100 Fahrenheit) on Saturday.The Hong Kong Observatory said Severe Typhoon Dolphin’s outer subsiding airflow was driving extremely hot conditions across Guangdong and Hong Kong, with the heat expected to persist into early next week.“As of 4pm, the maximum temperature recorded at the Observatory was 34.7 degrees, the highest so far this year,” the forecaster said.A very hot weather warning was issued at 6.45am, while the Labour Department issued an amber heat stress at work warning about 15 minutes later.Temperatures climbed above 35 degrees across much of the city in the afternoon.
