Mamelodi Sundowns defender Aubrey Modiba expects Antonio van Wyk to make an immediate impact after backing the club’s newest attacker to trouble defenders throughout the season.
Van Wyk returned to South African football during the off-season after completing a move to the Brazilians, adding further firepower to a Sundowns squad already packed with attacking talent.
The winger could make his competitive debut when Miguel Cardoso’s side host Polokwane City in their MTN8 quarter-final at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday (6pm).
Speaking ahead of the season opener, Modiba admitted defenders know exactly how difficult quick and direct wingers can be to contain.
