MANILA, Philippines — Palace press officer Claire Castro on Friday said that the recantation of four of the 18 “maleta boys” of the alleged bagmen of former lawmaker Zaldy Co exposed the “style” of Duterte supporters to spread baseless claims against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Castro made this remark as the four alleged bagmen signed affidavits of recantation where they said that their previous statement implicating Marcos, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and other government officials receiving kickbacks from flood control projects was “untrue.”

“Nakikita naman natin ang style ng mga Duterte supporters kung paano sila mag-hire ng mga tao na gumawa ng kathang-isip na kwento kapalit ang malaking halaga laban sa Pangulo,” Castro said in her personal Youtube account.
