The Presidency on Friday said the ongoing road construction projects undertaken by the administration are easing the movement of people and goods across the country.
It cited the ongoing dualisation of the Makurdi-Otukpo-Enugu road, saying it was already easing movement across state borders, disclosing that the project had cut travel time between Makurdi and Otukpo from about three hours to roughly 90 minutes.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, made the remarks while inspecting Section One of the Lafia Bypass and the dualisation of the Makurdi-Ninth Mile Road, as part of a nationwide media tour of federal and state infrastructure projects led by the Presidential Communications Team across Benue State.
He stated, “The road is impressive on its own, and if you are able to link all parts of Nigeria, it shows you that we are improving connectivity across our states, and of course, it will boost not just passenger traffic but also business traffic, to be able to move goods across all the state borders.
“So far, the quality is very impressive, and if they do this all the way down to Enugu State, I think it will be a road that will last very long.
