An Irish trainee barrister arrested in a car loaded with explosives allegedly bound for Northern Ireland covered her face after she appeared in court today.Isobella Perrie Sullivan, 25, of Clane, Co Kildare, was stopped at Aclint, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, in July after gardaí allegedly found a bag on the back seat containing Semtex and a detonator.Sullivan has again been granted bail after being charged with possession of explosives, but is banned from contacting members of the New IRA or anyone associated with the far-left Irish political party Saoradh.As she left Monaghan District Court this morning, she covered her face and upper body with a paisley scarf.The 25-year-old has been charged over the incident alongside a Dublin museum employee.Her defence solicitor said she had been asked to take a bag to Northern Ireland and was unaware of its contents, adding that she had been 'manipulated'.Isobella Perrie Sullivan covers up as she leaves Monaghan District Court, where she is charged with possession of explosives Sullivan has said via her defence lawyer than she had no idea what was in the bagSullivan has been charged with possessing explosives after allegedly driving a car containing a viable explosive device towards the Northern Irish borderShe was arrested when Irish police said they made an 'extremely significant seizure' of an explosive device from the car, which they said could have caused significant damage.The vehicle was stopped on the N2 that runs between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland. The stop was just six miles from the border with the UK.During a search of the vehicle, a bag was found in the back seat which contained Semtex and a detonator, the court heard.Sullivan was a student at ATU Donegal in Letterkenny and graduated last year with a law degree.Ms Perrie Sullivan attended a brief hearing at Monaghan District Court on Friday.She stood when her case was called.
