The limited-edition cookies swap Oreo's sweet creme for a filling meant to replicate KFC's Original Recipe seasoning

Oreo China and KFC launched a limited-edition fried chicken-flavored cookie in China on July 31, replacing the Oreo's signature sweet creme with a savory filling designed to recreate the taste of KFC's Original Recipe blend of 11 herbs and spices.

The cookie keeps Oreo's familiar chocolate wafers, while the center swaps the usual sweet creme for a savory blend meant to evoke the taste of KFC's fried chicken seasoning — no meat included. Each cookie also bears KFC's logo on one wafer where Oreo's own mark would normally appear, according to Dexerto.

The collaboration is part of Oreo's limited-edition "Playful Time Travel" collection. The box trades Oreo's signature dark blue for KFC's red and white, with fried chicken imagery printed beside a stack of cookies. A second flavor, Retro Popcorn, launched alongside the KFC edition. Shoppers can purchase either flavor on its own in an 87g box or pick up both together in a 174g combined pack, according to Yahoo.
