Aug. 6 (UPI) -- New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill made her first wave of endorsements for Democratic congressional candidates this week, throwing support behind 13.
Sherrill made her endorsements through her political action committee Mission to Deliver, backing Democratic candidates in competitive districts around the country. She has largely thrown her support behind candidates with backgrounds in the military or national security, including some challenging incumbent Democrats.
This is the first election cycle since Sherrill was sworn in as governor earlier this year.
In the Massachusetts Senate race, Sherrill is backing state Rep. Seth Moulton in his campaign against incumbent Sen. Edward Markey, D-Mass. She is also endorsing Rep. Don Davis in North Carolina and Maggie Goodlander in New Hampshire.
