Eaton Awarded $7M AFRL Contract to Apply Quantum Computing to Power Grid Security

Intelligent power management company Eaton (NYSE: ETN) has been awarded a $7 million, 24-month contract by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to advance quantum-enabled analytics, machine learning, and advanced visualization for electrical grid resilience. Partnering with quantum hardware developer Infleqtion and Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), the project aims to develop hybrid quantum-classical algorithms to better detect, visualize, and mitigate simultaneous physical and cyber threats targeting critical energy infrastructure.
