Ranchi: The Jharkhand government on Friday tabled a supplementary budget of Rs 8,399 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal in the assembly amid protests by the opposition over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore presented the first supplementary budget for the current financial year.In February, Kishore presented the annual budget of Rs 1.58 lakh crore for the current financial year.Read more: Jharkhand exam irregularities: CID arrests 5 more, total arrests reach 19Of the total supplementary demand, the Rural Development Department has been allocated the highest outlay of Rs 4,258.67 crore, followed by the School Education and Literacy Department with Rs 946.30 crore and the Rural Works Department with Rs 885.83 crore.A sum of Rs 490.68 crore has been proposed for the Home, Jail and Disaster Management Department, while the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department is likely to get Rs 271.61crore.The debate on the demands is scheduled to be held on August 10.Read more: Jharkhand job exam stir: Man throws ink at AISA's Neha Bora, detainedThe finance minister also tabled the annual report of the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC)."The state's credit-deposit ratio, which was around 50 per cent in 2024, has increased to around 55 per cent in 2026," he said.The Monsoon session started on Thursday and will conclude on August 12.There are five working days during the session, Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath told the House on Thursday.
