The South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) has announced a new governing committee, which draws members from across the solar value chain, including engineering, project development, finance, governance, legal, policy and strategic communications.
The governing committee would be chaired by DeVilliers Botha, who said in a statement that the committee’s focus would be on ensuring that SAPVIA continued to promote good governance, fostered collaboration and supported an environment that encouraged investment, innovation and sustainable industry growth.
The other members were named as Mtho Xulu as deputy chairperson, Dr Wale Aboyade as Treasurer, Frank Spencer as spokesperson, and Jonathan Frick and Antje Klauss-Vorreiter as deputy spokespeople.
SAPVIA also named Khotso Selokoma, Mike Mangnall, Ziska McGilton, and Prenesen Govender as commissioners.
CEO Dr Rethabile Melamu expressed confidence that the committee had the leadership, experience and strategic perspectives needed to guide the association during a period when the “energy transition is entering a defining phase”.
