Some of President Donald Trump’s most loyal supporters say he hasn’t delivered on one of his biggest campaign promises – and they’re hurting because of it. Trump won the 2024 election in part by vowing to reduce prices and reverse the inflation that struck after the COVID-19 pandemic. “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on day one,” he said on the campaign trail, and frequently offered variations on that same promise. “Starting the day I take the oath of office, I will rapidly drive prices down and we will make America affordable again,” he said in August 2024. “We’re going to make it affordable again.”But that hasn’t happened. As prices remain high ― and his war in Iran has caused fuel prices to repeatedly spike ― Americans are growing deeply dissatisfied with Trump. His approval rating on inflation is 43 percentage points underwater, according to The Economist’s poll tracker.MS NOW caught up with Trump supporters to find out how they’re feeling.
