Coway's corporate identity (Coway) Coway on Friday reported sales of 1.44 trillion won ($1.02 billion) and operating profit of 253.2 billion won in the second quarter, setting a new record for half-year earnings on the back of strong demand for its premium home appliance lineup, accelerating rental account growth and solid performances across its overseas markets.For the first half of 2026, the Korean home appliance maker's revenue increased 13.9 percent from the same period last year to 2.77 trillion won, while operating profit climbed 11.1 percent to 504.1 billion won.According to the company, its domestic revenue reached 786.8 billion won in the second quarter, up 7.7 percent on-year, supported by steady sales of its flagship ice water purifiers and Berex-branded sleep and wellness products, including beds and massage chairs.The company scored 242,000 net rental accounts in Korea during the quarter, marking a 51.6 percent increase from a year earlier. New rental offerings, including wall-mounted air conditioners, food waste processors and personal low-frequency electrical stimulation devices, also received positive market responses, according to Coway. Overseas subsidiaries maintained strong momentum, with combined second-quarter sales rising 24.2 percent on-year to 587.5 billion won.Malaysia, Coway's largest overseas market, generated 434.5 billion won in revenue, up 22.2 percent from a year earlier. Revenue from business in the United States increased 15.2 percent to 66.9 billion won, while Thailand posted a 53.9 percent jump to 66 billion won. Indonesia recorded 13.3 billion won in revenue, up 12.2 percent.“In the second quarter, we demonstrated strong growth potential thanks to steady increases in our sales volume and expansion across our rental accounts both domestically and globally,” Kim Soon-tae, Coway’s chief financial officer, said.“In the second half of this year, we will continue to sustain this upward momentum by focusing on solidifying our leadership in the premium appliance market and accelerating our growth engines via product portfolio diversification.”
