Parliament proceedings were adjourned for the day on Friday amid continued protests by Opposition members over the NEET paper leak and alleged theft of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.The Lok Sabha was adjourned till Monday after repeated disruptions, with the Question Hour washed out and Zero Hour ending within 16 minutes.Amid the din, the Lok Sabha passed the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026 without debate. Papers and reports of various Parliamentary committees were also tabled.Opposition members have been demanding a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on the alleged police excesses during protests against the NEET paper leak, including the July 20 police action on protesters marching towards Parliament.Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Opposition could not dictate which minister should come to the House and respond. He said Shah attends Parliament throughout the day and stays until late at night, and accused the Opposition of disrupting proceedings.In the Rajya Sabha, proceedings were also adjourned for the day amid protests demanding Shah's presence in the House. Opposition MPs, led by Congress president and Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, raised the issue of the Home Minister's absence and also protested over the alleged Ram temple donation theft.Chairman C P Radhakrishnan proceeded with the listed business amid the sloganeering before adjourning the House till Monday.The Monsoon Session, which began on July 20, has been repeatedly disrupted by differences between the government and Opposition over the NEET paper leak and other issues.
