Fresh concerns have been raised about conditions at Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital after a man alleged his mother faced delays in treatment and was provided with damaged equipment during a visit to the Emergency Ward.
Riri Ji Jr. said his mother was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday after becoming seriously ill and was taken directly to the Emergency Ward.
He claimed the family waited more than 20 minutes before she received attention.
“My mother was left suffering from her illness while the doctors were slow to respond. We waited for more than 20 minutes,” Riri said.
“A patient could die while still being made to wait. Even the number of nurses is not enough.”
