Image: Mikko Stig / LehtikuvaYle News9:38The weather outlook for this weekend suggests variable conditions for different parts of Finland.A low-pressure front will bring scattered rain showers to the east and north on Friday, according to Yle meteorologist Elias Paakkanen, with the inclement weather expected to continue in these regions into the weekend.Temperatures in Finnish Lapland and in the east of Finland will hover around 10 degrees Celsius on Friday and again on Saturday, although the rain bands are expected to move east by Sunday.By contrast, people in the south can expect a sunny Saturday, with temperatures rising to 22 degrees Celsius along the southern coastline.Friday will however be quite overcast in many southern and central parts of the country, with gusty winds forecast across the region. The Finnish Meteorological Institute has issued a warning of strong winds reaching up to 15 metres per second (m/s) for all southern and central areas.There is also a thunderstorm warning issued in the southeast.Sunday will see dry conditions in most areas, with temperatures ranging from 22 degrees in the south to 14 degrees in Finnish Lapland.The outlook for the next few days.
