HomePro is focusing on efficiency measures as challenging market conditions persist.
SET-listed Home Product Center, the operator of HomePro, expects trading conditions to remain challenging in the second half of 2026 as rising energy costs, geopolitical tensions and cautious consumer spending continue to weigh on demand for home improvement products.Rakpong Aroonwatdhana, senior vice-president of investor relations, strategy and sustainability, said higher diesel prices are lifting transport costs across supply chains, while volatile oil prices are increasing raw material costs for products such as plastics, chemicals and construction materials.
"The greater concern is not only higher product costs, but weaker consumer confidence," he said.
"As prices gradually increase, households are becoming more cautious about discretionary spending, which could affect demand in the second half."
The impact extends beyond logistics because higher energy prices eventually feed through to manufacturing costs, prompting suppliers to adjust prices across multiple product categories, said Mr Rakpong.
