A security analyst, Bashir Altine, on Thursday, alleged that suspected bandits have taken over the abandoned Adarawa community in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, occupying the village’s primary school and health centre after residents fled sustained attacks.
He claimed that the deserted village had been converted into a major operational base by armed groups under the control of notorious bandit leaders, warning that the development could heighten insecurity across communities in Eastern Sokoto if urgent action were not taken.
Altine, in a post on his verified X handle, alleged that the criminals had dug sleeping pits, erected makeshift shelters fitted with new mattresses and stationed motorcycles across the abandoned settlement, while using a nearby hill as a surveillance point for armed fighters.
He further claimed that the camp serves as a forward operational base from where attacks could be launched on neighbouring communities, including Unguwar Lalle, Lajinge and Dan Tudu, urging security agencies to verify the intelligence and dismantle the camp before it becomes more entrenched.
He alleged that the camp was under the control of notorious bandit commanders identified as Chimo, Haru Dole and Mai Kidni.
