Benue State Deputy Governor, Samuel Ode, on Thursday said the state remained poised to deliver one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
He disclosed that the Governor Father Hyacinth Alia administration would mobilise the state’s Executive Council and citizens to actualise the promise.
Ode made the declaration while conducting members of the Presidential Communications Team, led by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on a tour of ongoing federal and state infrastructure projects across Makurdi as part of a nationwide media tour.
Responding to a question on what Benue intended to offer in return for the President’s development interventions in the state, Ode said, “We already have a pronouncement that was done by the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Father Alia. He made a pronouncement that Benue will deliver 1 million votes to Mr President.
“I think my responsibility as Deputy Governor is to make sure that I mobilise the Executive Council and the people of Benue State in their large numbers to actualise that promise that has been made by the governor.”
