The zoo says in a statement that there was an accidental physical contact between the primate and a visitor in a secure area of the zoo.
One visitor entered the macaque’s habitat dressed in a character costume, while the other filmed him with a phone from outside.
Some tourists at have tried to feed, touch or bathe with the wild Japanese macaques.
