One of the longest-running attractions at Disney’s EPCOT could be making its way to TV screens.
Disney+ has ordered a pilot for Spaceship Earth, based on the EPCOT ride that has been in place (with periodic updates) since the park opened in 1982. IT: Welcome to Derry co-showrunner Jason Fuchs is writing the pilot and will serve as showrunner. He executive produces with Michael Waldron (Avengers: Doomsday, Loki), director Lee Toland Krieger (You, Riverdale), Adam Fishbach (Love, Victor) and Waldron’s Anomaly Pictures partner Adam Fasullo.
Fuchs and Fishbach previously worked together on the 2024 feature Argylle, which Fuchs wrote and produced and Fishbach exec produced.
The Spaceship Earth pilot will use the ride’s premise of traveling through time to track humankind’s progress as a jumping-off point. The logline reads, “When a mission to avert an imminent global cataclysm goes awry, a small band of teenagers from Earth’s past and future must join forces to confront a threat as vast and mysterious as time itself.”
